Alpine Type X subwoofer or Alpine Type R?

So I"m looking at buying a 12" Alpine Type X subwoofer. I just barely sold my 2 12"alpine type r's, but I'd like to know how they compare. The type r's were running off of a dhd 1600 watt amp. I'll be getting an Alpine MRP-M1000 amp to power my type x. I've never personally heard a type x but I love alpine and assume this set should be great. Leave me some feedback on how this set will compare, and any suggestions. Thanks!
