Will a small Alpine V power be enough for my Kicker 12's?

I just bought some 12'' Kicker comps, 4 ohm, 150 watts RMS, 300 peak. I have an Alpine V power MRP-F240 amp laying around that I believe can be bridged to 100 watt RMS at 4 ohm, it is a 4/3/2 channel amp and much smaller than I usually have used in past systems. So my subs are on the way and I would like another opinion if I should start looking for a new amp.... I also have a kenwood 350 watt 2 channel amp, however, I am partial to Alpine. AND i am having a hell of a time finding a ported box locally, would it be worth the trouble of ordering online and assembling a ported box, or just settle for a sealed? btw i listen to rap and hip hop LOUD

if your going to run that one amp for both kicker comps than one cvr would definitely sound better on that amp, your gonna be getting more power to the cvr instead of less power to each comp.

In your case you will want to run 4awg wire from the BATTERY to a fused distribution block near the amps, then from there you can run 4awg or 8awg wire to the amps. also its best to run separate rca cable from your head unit to each amp.

In some theories, they will say poverty is necessary. Whether you agree with it or not, conflict theory basically states this. Psychologically, they will say economic activity is built upon the desire to fulfill some need...maybe it physiological (food), psychological (peace of mind). Either way, these three sciences seem different in their approach of basic everyday actions. What I am asking, then, is is there a science that combines all three. Why won't my subs work?

I have two 15" Rockford Fosgate P2s and an alpine MRP-M1000. I have my subs wired to 4 ohms so I don't blow them or my amp. They were working fine the other day and then I took my blazer to Wal-mart to get my tires changed and when I got my blazer back my subs wouldn't work. I checked the wires in the box thinking it might be them but they weren't loose and my remote wire isn't loose from my amp and it can't be my power wire or ground wire because my amp turns on. Alpine mrp-m500 amp settings? 2 JL 12" subs?

I have two 12" JL W0V2s hooked up to an alpine mrp-m500 v power amp. In the dash I have a Jensen flip out LCD screen, Jensen VM9214, which I believe is 2v. But what I was wondering is what settings should I have my amp set to for maximum bass output? Without blowing my subs of course. I already get people saying how loud it is and how it quakes but I'm getting used to it and I'd like to kick it up a notch if possible. Infinity cone separated from surround?

Today as I was commuting to school I heard rattling from my sub and way less bass than usual. When I got to school I checked it out and the cone had separated from the surround. I own an Infinity Reference 1060W 4-ohm rated at 275W RMS along with an alpine MRP-500 300W RMS amplifier. The sub is in a .75cu/ft box which is recommended in the manual. The temperature this morning was in the 50's so it couldn't have been heat. Does anyone have reasoning for this? Perhaps I had the gains set wrong and there was clipping. I loved the sub and only had it for 2 months and it sounded amazing. Should I try another one or go with a different brand? I don't know if it makes a difference but I mainly listen to metal/ death metal is it possible it just can't handle the bass drum speed? Thanks for the help.

Sub not working but amp powering on?

I'm don't exactly follow your description but double check the wires that connect the speaker to the speaker box. If you took the sub out of the box it's possible the wires didnt get retightened or may have come loose. Speakers have large magnets and magnets are very brittle. The drop should not have effected the magnet or speaker structure but look over very carefully and make sure none of the wires on the sub itself are loose or dangling( the wires that actually go to the magnet and voice coils.

Popping noise from sub?

I got an alpine type r with an mrp 500 powering it. i have had the sub for two weeks and worked fine. A day ago the sub/box fell over and landed on my amp while i was driving. then a day after it fell my sub started to make a popping noise that starts around medium to low volume. i took the sub out and wired it directly to the amp trying to find solutions and it still pops. i hooked my old type s up and it popped also. i tried my type r in a friends vehicle with a different amp and it worked alright. Deep-Cycle Battery or....?

Hi, I'm Jezer and I got two Alpine MRP-M500's powering two Alpine 1243d's wired at 2 ohms load producing 500 rms each. I have a '98 Dodge Stratus and my stock battery and alternator is 90 amps so obviously it ain't powerful enough. I can't replace the battery to a yellow top or any deep-cycle battery because none of those batteries fit in the little space provided for the battery in my left front tire. I have used Verizon before, and I can remember that they will ship me a new phone if I send the old one back. I leave for college in 2 months, and I have to switch carriers because AT&T is not supported in my college town. im still bemused by the Trengove one. The big difference between the Trengove one and the other ones is that Dangerfield caused the issue by attempting to kick the ball whilst being tackled. This meant he lost his equilibrium and the tackle looked in the process like a sling when in actual fact Trengove's force from when he began to when he finsihed the tackle was the same. Had Dangerfield not attempted to dispose of the ball the tackle wouldnt have slung. On the other hand the tackles where the player in the tackle has no control over what is happening is a issue. Your amp will push approximately 180-200 watts rms at 8ohms. Make sure you build the correct size enclosure for the sub. I've seen many disappointed people with cool looking enclosures that do not maximize the sub's potential. This sub will take that ALL DAY. Turn it up and enjoy what it gives you. The amp may need more cooling do to the 8ohm load but it should be just fine, Hope this helps.

So I"m looking at buying a 12" Alpine Type X subwoofer. I just barely sold my 2 12"alpine type r's, but I'd like to know how they compare. The type r's were running off of a dhd 1600 watt amp. What does "True 4 Ohm Speaker" mean?

I read what it means on their website but it sounds like a bunch of sh*t to me. They claim that, although the speaker is 2ohms, an amplifier will "see it" as 4ohms because 2ohms of additional impedance will be created by the factory speaker wire. Maybe infinity knows something I dont, but I've tested 4ohm speakers via the factory wiring before and, well, they test as 4ohms. Anyway regardless of whether what they're saying is true or a crock of sh*t those speakers will work with that amplifier.

It depends on your setup really i personally like alpine products. The difference between the two is the alpine will run 2000 watts rms at 2 ohms, and the us amp will run 3000 watts at 1 ohm. look at how much power your subs need and at what ohm load your going to run them, base your decision off of this. If you have 2 subs with dual 4 ohm voice coils you can run them at 1 or 4 ohms, or if you have dual 2 ohm voice coils you can run them at 2 or 8 ohms.

What Wiring Kit To Buy?

When I came home to find it, I knew it was close to the property line, but I didn't think anything else about it at the time. About a month later, I went out and found my property lines, and sure enough, about 80% of his building is in my yard. I told him it needed to be moved at that time. Six months later, the building has still not been moved. So I mentioned it again, he told me he didn't have the money, but assured me it would be moved within another month or two. Well that time has almost expired. I was told I could go pay a lawyer to draw up some papers to "legally" serve him with a notice that the building has to be moved, but personally, I don't like the idea that I have to go spend my money to make him move it when it wasn't my mistake. Would this amp push my 2 13.5" w6v2 subs?

For starters subs are wired in different configurations to produce a different resistance at the amplifier, so your subs are not exactly stable at 1.5 or 3 ohms, they can just be wired to a 1.5 or 3ohm load. However I think that your subwoofers have dual 4 ohm voicecoils which means that they can only wire the woofers to a 1 ohm or 4 ohm load. And the alpine amp you posted is not stable at 1 ohm, so you would have to wire the subs to a 4 ohm load and would only get 600 watts out of the amp. You may want to look at a 1 ohm stable mono amp that produces about 1000 watts or a little more at 1 ohm. As for the battery/alternator situation, I don't know the ampere rating of your stock alternator but generally speaking a stock alternator can handle up to about a 1000 watt system but that is on the high end and will probably stress the system. To be safe you can upgrade to a high output alternator and that should take care of any issues. Do not get a second battery without upgrading the alternator however, the added strain of having to charge two batteries will only hurt the stock electrical system.

Why did my alpine mrp m500 amp stop working?

Until now, I've been satisfied just to look for a new amp instead of asking questions. But now I really need to know. I had the amp for about 3 years, no problems, then all of a sudden it just wouldn't work. The light turns on, but no sound comes out. I checked power, ground, remote turn on, rca, subs, and speaker wire to subs; all are good. I heard it might be because I have 2 svc subs wired in parallel to the amp (which is a mono amp), and some how this fried it because the amp isn't bridgeable or something??? While playing my type r with mrp-m500 the sub quit playing. I looked at the terminal on the box and the negative connection plastic was melted upward(when I did install the negative push terminal was loose but worked fine), the ground terminal was burnt and came undone when I pulled on it. How would this happen, and could the sub be blown?

Which setup of sub&amp will hit harder and better and louder?

Technically the second option would be slightly louder, because it will have 100 more watts running to the sub, but the difference in the two options would be almost undetectable. You could save $200 and get the first option, which would mean you are running 100 less watts and spend some of that money on getting a proper box built. The enclosure is probably the most important part of a build, and will make or break a sub stage. Going with a prefab enclosure will hold your sub back, but an enclosure built and tuned to the sub's specs and built well will really let the subwoofer shine. No Sound Coming from Subwoofer?

I have a 10" Kicker comp, Alpine mrp-500, and a sony cdx l600x headunit. Whenever I hook the three correctly I only get sound out of my four main speakers. The power and remote wire work fine because the amp turns off with the headunit and it also gets power. I double checked the RCA cables and they were matched up correctly. I even switched between two speaker wires for the sub but neither did anything. Does anyone know whats up? Do I need to buy something to fix this because all these are brand new except for the headunit. Thanks

Can maxing out a new Alpine Type R damage it?

On the deck(ALPINE CDE-124SXM) the subwoofer is at 15(max), bass is at neutral, and the volume is at 22. The amp is a MRP-M500(500watt rms), with the gain and everything set to max. The sub is a 12" Alpine Type R(600watt rms), new straight from the store. I've noticed from the volume at 20-25 the bass is the same, so I am assuming that it is at its max. Could playing it for an hour have damage it?

Is it a coincidence that my cooker, washer and drier have all broken in the same week?

There was a fault with the ignition on the cooker that made the electrics in the kitchen blow! It took me ages to find the fault, I unplugged everything obvious but forgot that even though the cooker is gas it has an electric ignition. Once I had unplugged it the electric worked after I had flicked the fuse switch. I can still use the cooker, I just need a lighter to get it going. The odd thing is that since then my washer and drier have also stopped working. My washer has always been a bit odd to be honest but this week it finally just stopped working. The temperature this morning was in the 50's so it couldn't have been heat. Does anyone have reasoning for this? Perhaps I had the gains set wrong and there was clipping. I loved the sub and only had it for 2 months and it sounded amazing. Should I try another one or go with a different brand? I don't know if it makes a difference but I mainly listen to metal/ death metal is it possible it just can't handle the bass drum speed? Thanks for the help.

Dell Inspiron 1545 disk drive not working?

Maternity leave question - EI?

I am currently on maternity leave and due back in October. However, I am currently studying to become a mortgage broker and will not be returning to my previous job. If mortgage brokers are 100% commission and I wouldn't get my first paycheck until a mortgage closed, can I stay on EI until it expires in Oct even though I am technically employed with a firm but without a paycheck? ok so my 2010 software expired for microsoft office and my computer was getting slow. so i downloaded 2007 software (microsoft) and it was still slow b/c i download movie maker n google chrome. so i tried to make my computer faster by deleting un used programs from control panel (add or remove programs) so i unnistalled a bunch of stuff relating to microsoft 2010 and now my webcam is not opening ... it says, "The application has failed to start because its side by side configuration is inncorrect. see the application event log or use command line sxstrace.exe tool for mor detail." i have no idea what the Fck it means! to be honest i am a retaard when it comes to compuer programs and stuff! and i think i just murdered my laptop LOL! so please if any of you guys know anything of how i can fix this please help me out ! i will very much appreciate it! thanks to those who help in advance =)

WHY does one of the tube fuses in my car audio system keep blowin?

Ok, so I had my system installed at best buy and i have two Alpine Type R 12s powered by two Alpine MRP-M500 amps, one for each sub. I have a Fierce Audio distribution block to hold my two tube fuses....the original fuses were the 5AG40A fuse....anyways, the fuse for my left amp blew...took it into best buy, the guy gave me another one of the same kind....it blew again about a week later....took it BACK in. The guy asked what kind of fuse it was, i told him the 40, he said i prolly needed an 80 but he didnt have any so he gave me another 40 and a 60...i put the 60 in...it blew. WHAT THE HELL. The one on the right is not blowing, and everytime the left one blows its fried on the bottom of it...could the bottom clamps holding the fuse not be tight enough er somethin?? the amp doesnt get hot at all so I dont think its defective....suggestions?

You'll need to wire it up to 4ohms. The sub will be slightly underpowered, but that is your only option. You can't wire it up to 2ohms (as in: not possible) and if you wire it up to 1ohm you'll probably end up ruining the amp and/or blowing the sub (or the amp may just go into protect mode to keep that from happening).

you could run 4 subs or even more if they are wired right. you just divide the power between however many speakers are connected. you want your final ohm load to be 2 ohms. so if you have 2 single voice coil (SVC) 4 ohm subs, it will equal 2 ohm. perfect. 250 watts RMS each sub. I think i messed up my car door?

I locked my keys in the car so i took a lim jim and tried openging it, i failed. Next, I tried a wire hanger, also failed. Then i put some plastic wedges in the door and stuck a wire hanger inside the car and was able to push the unlock door button. Anybody know what I may have done to make that happen? It's never happened to me before i started ******* with the car door with the jim and wire hanger.

lol ... you forgot to say what kind of car it is ... well most cars would be ok with those 2 amplifiers . you will be using about 80 amps at full volume for the amplifiers . Most cars these days have a 110A alternator. It should be ok if yours is 110A+ . you may have a little dimming of lights at night . If you have a car with a 90A alternator ..... you prob wanna buy a second battery, high amp relay (they make a 80A version ) , and a second fuse to put near the second battery . hope that helps .

No it would not. A lot of people do not realize that MOST factory head units are better quality in sound quality than an after market one. The noise you are hearing is most likely ground loop noise. You prob do not have a good ground on your amp. Or it could link back to your LOC (line output converter), you prob used one because it is a factory head and will not have RCA outputs. If you wired this up wrong it can be your problem. Also do not run your power wire and RCS's on the same side of the car. You did not give me much info so this is the best help i can really give with the info provided. Hope I helped.

Why is my amp going into protect mode?

I have an Alpine MRP-M500 amp bridged to two Kenwood kfc w3011. Recently, driving down the road, I had it turned up really loud and it just cut out. When I turn the car on, the blue light turns on and then off soon after and no sound is coming from the subs. I've checked the power, trigger and ground wires with a multimeter. However, they read about 10 volts when they're hooked up to the amp and 12 when I take them off. I don't know if this is normal. I'm thinking it's an internal issue with the amp. If so, what should I do? Please, any advice would be helpful.
