Why can and can't I use L'Hopital's rule in the following instances?

When you evaluate the first one and plug in infinity you get 1^∞ which is an indeterminate form. however with the second one you get 2^∞. 2^infinity is NOT an indeterminate form, as it's just infinity - therefore there is no need to use l'hopital's rule on the 2nd one.
