I think i messed up my car door?

I locked my keys in the car so i took a lim jim and tried openging it, i failed. Next, I tried a wire hanger, also failed. Then i put some plastic wedges in the door and stuck a wire hanger inside the car and was able to push the unlock door button. Anybody know what I may have done to make that happen? It's never happened to me before i started ******* with the car door with the jim and wire hanger.
