Why is my amp going into protect mode?

I have an Alpine MRP-M500 amp bridged to two Kenwood kfc w3011. Recently, driving down the road, I had it turned up really loud and it just cut out. When I turn the car on, the blue light turns on and then off soon after and no sound is coming from the subs. I've checked the power, trigger and ground wires with a multimeter. However, they read about 10 volts when they're hooked up to the amp and 12 when I take them off. I don't know if this is normal. I'm thinking it's an internal issue with the amp. If so, what should I do? Please, any advice would be helpful.
